Local Jewish artists, mother and daughter Margy Feigelson and Laura Kellam, draw inspiration from nature while expressing themselves with their unique styles and techniques.

Margy is a mainly traditional and representational artist, although she has recently been incorporating paint pouring into her work. Margy is also a master of the Serti method of painting on silk. She enjoys painting a variety of subjects, including pets, wildlife, and flowers from her garden.

Laura takes a more modern, abstract approach, using layers of acrylic and mixed media in her paintings. She enjoys documenting her excursions around Baltimore and beyond, later transferring the colors, shapes, and moods of those places onto canvas.

Along with a desire to capture the beauty of nature, these artists also have in common the love of the painting process. It serves as a therapeutic and expressive necessity for both. This special bond is one that mother and daughter have shared for many years, and they are thrilled to be exhibiting their artwork together.
