The Train Odessa-Mama is a tale steeped in authentic Odessa-based, Ukrainian-Jewish humor, and is about love between two very different people: Misha Muhemzon, a Jewish man in his 50s and still lives with his mother, and Natalka Horobetz, a stunning Ukrainian beauty who is both determined and stubborn. Regarding Misha’s mom, absolutely nothing gets done without her input, and there is surely no way to fool her. Poor Misha, he’s never been with any women on his own, only with his mother around Natalka, unfortunately, doesn’t know her father, and even goes as far as professing that not even her mother knew who her father is. This clash of seemingly-polar opposites evolves into love while on the way from Odessa to Lviv.

The railroad adventure is full of surprises that are presented via humor and art. These aforementioned elements are skillfully crafted by the directors whom are, themselves, teeming with great senses of humor and have keen understandings of theater-based art. This story has it all – love, laughter, tears, memories, poetry, live music and dancing. Most people who have seen this performance would warn you to find your breath in between your countless laughs and to love as much as your heart may bear.
