About the Artist:Sharon Mond is an artist deeply inspired by the vibrant colors, textures, light, movement, and shapes found in the world around her. Working primarily with oil on canvas, she uses this medium to capture the beauty and essence of her subjects.
Her artwork focuses on nature and realism, featuring landscapes, seascapes, flowers, people, and animals. Sharon’s pieces often depict places and subjects that hold personal significance to her, reflecting her love for nature’s beauty and the sense of peace it provides, even during challenging times.
A lifelong resident of Pikesville and a longtime member of the JCC, Sharon’s artistic journey began in childhood with local art classes where she explored pastels, watercolor, and oil painting. As a teenager, she honed her skills under the guidance of a local art teacher. Throughout adulthood, while raising her family and working as a dance movement therapist and licensed clinical counselor, Sharon continued to draw and paint independently.
Now retired, Sharon dedicates more time to her art, finding joy and fulfillment in sharing her perspective and creations with others. She is grateful for the opportunity to connect with her audience through her work and to bring her artistic vision to life.
