International Guitar Night
January 19, 2013 at 8:00pm
Featuring founder, Brian Gore (at right), Martin Taylor (UK), Solorazaf (Madagascar), and Celso Machado (Afro-Brazilian).
THE INTERNATIONAL GUITAR NIGHT (IGN) is the world's premier touring guitar festival, each show bringing together the most interesting and innovative acoustic guitarists to exchange musical ideas in a public concert setting. For each tour, IGN founder Brian Gore invites a new cast of guitar luminaries to join him for special evenings of solos, duets, and quartets that highlight the dexterity and diversity within the world of acoustic guitar. Brian founded IGN in 1995 as a forum for the world’s finest guitarists/composers to play their latest original songs and share musical ideas and talent with their peers. This year IGN’s 12th North American tour features Martin Taylor (UK), Solorazaf (Madagascar), Celso Machado (Afro-Brazilian) and Brian Gore. IGN audiences cherish the virtuosity of the playing and the friendly, informal ambiance of the performances. Participants relish the chance to play with peers from different genres, and to collaborate rather than compete. This unique brand of “guitar positivity” has helped make the IGN the most successful guitar showcase of its kind.

Center Stage – Five Decades of Plays
January 28, 2013 at 7:00pm
Join us to celebrate the vision of these early pioneers as we take a lively, loving look back over the past five decades of Center Stage hits and highlights.
In 1962, a group of civic-minded arts patrons including the Director of the JCC Drama department at the time, Ed Golden, hatched a professional theater company in Baltimore at the JCC. Ed became the first Artistic Director for CENTERSTAGE which is still thriving in its current location and about to enter its second half-century.
This winter, come treasure a storied past and embrace a boundless future. Stroll down memory lane and uncover some unexpected gems as we remember the past fifty years of CENTERSTAGE.
This celebration will provide a look back over the past five decades of hits and highlights. The evening will include actors performing selections from works such as Tennessee Williams’ classic Glass Menagerie, Eric Overmyer’s landmark premiere of On the Verge, August Wilson’s powerful Jitney, and Lynn Nottage’s much-loved recent hit, Intimate Apparel.
